Freshers’ Tip #9

It’s amazing how much time it takes to set up your stall, so make sure you arrive a good hour before your freshers’ fair opens to the masses. A good looking, well presented stall will help you attract members. Unorganised and messy will put people off!

Plan ahead and think carefully about who will be manning you stall. Make sure you have enough people to cover the whole day, and make use of those who offer help.

But remember, the people who are on your stall will make that all important first impression to new students and potential members. Make sure those who are representing CF are approachable and know what to say when people ask questions!

Now more than ever, people are looking to the Conservative Party and asking difficult questions about what we would do in Government. You don’t need to know all the answers, but be able to get back to people or point them in the right direction with the leaflets we have provided, or direct them to the website.

Remember to keep your helpers motivated by making sure they have a lunch break and keeping them supplied with drinks!
