1) A message from the National Chairman

This last month has seen us make several large steps to improve our organisation, which nicely dovetails with the Party’s upturn too!

The first is we are currently updating & upgrading the CF database; this will allow for more communication, and also on a regional basis through the Regional Chairman. It is a slow process, but we hope to have it running soon.

The second and more noticeable step is the new website at conservativefuture.com. For too long the national website has been a sad representation of our great organisation. Well, this has now changed and we have merged the Executive blog onto conservativefuture.com’s domain and we have one impressive national site to support our members. I’ve seen several local blogs emerge this month and they look great. I’ll remind you all again that there is still the offer from our friends at Milon hosting to have a cfbranch.com website by signing up here.

We are going to build the CF website up over time, adding new functionality as well as keeping it updated with what’s going on throughout the country. This is where you come in; we want to promote what our members get up to and welcome blog contributions from any CF member. Has your branch held a successful debate? Got involved with a local social action project? Send us a review, and photos, and we will stick it on the site. We want to recognise and reward our branches as much as possible, as well as pass on ideas to other branches.

The website is for the CF membership – let’s use it!

4) Branches

Branch of the Month
A feature to highlight the great work our branches do, as well as providing advice and ideas to other branches.

Nottingham University Conservative Future

Once again another CF branch has supported a vote through their Union on ID cards:

Tonight, the University of Nottingham Student’s Union Council voted NO to ID cards for foreign students and voted to lobby the government to abandon their plans.

This is fantastic news for the people of Britain. It is also great that NUCA has not even run its NO2ID campaign yet, as it has been delayed until next semester, yet there is unanimous bad feeling about ID cards. This can only bode well for when NUCA tables a motion to Council to make NO2ID official SU policy.

Furthermore, NUCA’s presence within Council led to the Nottingham SU President, Nsikan Edung, saying “yes” he would support the Conservatives’ presence within the University to campaign against ID cards. Other members of Council suggested that NO2ID should also be utilised in the campaign against ID cards.

Sound conservative policy: 1, authoritarian government policy: 0

New Branch map

We have now launched a fully interactive branch map, showing CF branches across all of the UK. Let us know if your branch is not on the map, or the details are incorrect.

CF backs NO2ID

Conservative Future officially supports NO2ID, the campaign against the Government’s planned ID card and National Identity Register.

CFBranch

A free blog for any CF branch that wants to have one. CF needs to become a much more professional organisation and the starting point for that is to ensure that every branch has effective communication methods in place.
