Driving the Social Action agenda in 2010

Social Action is about people across the country doing their bit to help their local communities and building a better society for everyone. As Conservatives, Social Action is the very lifeblood of everything we believe in and stand for. That’s why I’m delighted to be leading Conservative Future’s National Social Action Programme for 2010, to help activists up and down the country engage in local projects and help make a difference in their areas.
In my previous role as National Campaigns Director, I met hundreds of Conservative Future activists who voluntarily …

Conservative Future is ready to campaign for change

From the Blue Blog: I outline Conservative Future’s important role in the upcoming General Election campaign.
With a general election fast approaching, proving to the public that the Conservative Party is ready to lead must be a top priority for all of us. Against the backdrop of voter apathy and a tired and crumbling Labour Government, voters need to see that we are working hard to deliver the message of change. No Government will ever win an election on a complacent campaign with average effort.
Make no mistake – this battle is …

5 minute Q&A with…Will Stobart

What makes you a Conservative?

I have always been very independent, and as a result I believe strongly in individual responsibility and social justice. I also support free market principles and the belief that government should be kept to a minimum, without jeopardising the freedom, prosperity or aspirations of anyone in society. These are all beliefs which I have found to be reciprocated in the modern Conservative Party.

What are you currently working on?

Mainly on planning freshers and beyond and trying to find ways of attracting as many people as possible to join CF next year. Beyond that, trying to organise speakers, events and campaigning for the rest of the year.

5 minute Q&A with Clare Hilley

What makes you a Conservative?

I believe that everyone should have the opportunity reach their full potential and fulfil their aspirations in life. Under New Labour, streams of red tape and soaring tax bills mean that many hardworking families simply cannot afford to get up the ladder.

Under Gordon Brown the UK has record debt and the gap between the rich and the poor is at its widest since the 1960s – this is a moral disgrace. The only way we can get a change of direction is if we have a change of Government.

What are you currently working on?

Lots – London CF Summer ball; campaign days and a conference weekend in Hazel Grove. I’m also currently revising for my exams as well as fulfilling my Council duties!

CF launches support for Conservative candidates in school mock elections

In just over 3 weeks there will be local and European elections on June 4th. There will also be mock elections taking place in schools across the United Kingdom.

These elections are being organised by the Hansard Society, under the name Y Vote Mock Elections.

Today Conservative Future has launched a page on its website focusing on schools and these mock elections.

5 minute Q&A with…Serene John-Richards

4. When do you think the next general election will be?

You know, many people may disagree but I have been banking on a Summer 09 election for quite some time now.

5. Why should people get involved with organisations like Conservative Future?

Delivering leaflets is the best job in the world. Explaining the difference between junk mail and constituency literature, encounters with domestic animals… Nothing beats the hotties though.

Student Life Tours 2008

The CF Student Life Committee is pleased to announce that they are assisting many of our University Branches with putting on a number of Question Time Events.
The purpose of these events is to introduce students to the organisations and ideas that make up the wider conservative movement. This will illustrate that CF is indeed a political youth organisation which is willing to deal with big ideas and cares deeply about the message of freedom.
All the events will have speakers from the Taxpayers’ Alliance, NO2ID and the Freedom Association, amongst others.
