New website for CF North West

One of my first actions as North West Chair has been to create a new website for the region.
The website features a blog, a calendar and information about the regional organisation. The website will be a place to advertise events across the region and to document the hard work carried out by Conservative Future activists in the run up to the General Election.
The site is open to all relevant contributions including information about campaign days, stories about successful events held by branches across the region and comment on the main …

Merseyside CF is leading the way…

Neil Wilson has just stepped down as Area Chairman for Merseyside. In this post he looks back on his time in charge and how successful CF in and around Liverpool now is:

It’s with some sadness that I’ve left Liverpool, and my post as Merseyside AC to head off for pastures new.

Merseyside has never been the easiest area for the party and Liverpool has been notoriously difficult in the last twenty years.

GMCF lead the way at Freshers’ fairs across Manchester 2

Last week Universities of Manchester Conservative Future once again embarked upon the rough seas that is political campaigning at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University.

Over the three days of freshers’ fairs at both universities, around 20 different activists from the University and all over Manchester came down to help out at our three stalls, outgunning the Labour and the LibDems, who struggled to keep even one stall afloat.

GMCF lead the way at Freshers’ fairs across Manchester

By David Bean

On Wednesday 30 September the Conservatives became the only political party to be represented at the freshers’ fairs for all four universities in Greater Manchester. We capped off the season, which began the previous week with Manchester and then proceeded through Manchester Metropolitan and Salford, with a visit to Bolton University, a campus traditionally only the Conservatives have shown interest in engaging with. But with many of its students part-time, mature or from linguistic backgrounds other than English, it has proven a tough nut to crack.
Planning our visit, …

David Cameron visits Cheshire & the Wirral

By Declan Lyons
On the 20th August, David Cameron – on his tour of the North West – visited Cheshire & The Wirral. There was a great attendance from young activists all across the area.
After greeting David at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Chester and having photos taken for various papers, we went inside.
David made a speech which covered all manner of topics, such as the Conservative plans for Afghanistan, the NHS and helping the parents of disabled children. He then took questions from the floor.
I am sure all will agree, …

Liverpool CFers campaigning

Neil Wilson and his team of Conservative Future activists in Liverpool richly deserve praise for the tireless campaign they’ve been leading. Neil has had his team out time and again, working hard to present the people of Liverpool with an alternative to Brown. His Facebook sums it up eloquently: “Labour STILL isn’t working.”

What has your branch been doing? Send in your reports and photos to edward.hallam@conservativefuture.com and, like Neil’s team, you could be on the front page of ConservativeFuture.com

Philip Hammond visits Warrington to see Social Action plans

As unemployment soars at the fastest rate since records began, Warrington South Conservative Association are taking positive steps to help people back into work.

With many people hit by job losses or with the threat of redundancy hanging over them, it’s clear that now is a worrying time for families across the country. Warrington has been hit hard by this recession, many businesses have had to make redundancies, and in this economic climate there is not only more competition for jobs, but there are fewer jobs available.
